Dorsibiconvex, rectimarginate to weakly unisulcate valves, notothyrium covered by chilidial plates in later species, ventral interior with extended, flabellate muscle scars, bisected in front of adductor scar by short median ridge, dorsal interior with brachiophores supported by adventitious shell
