Ornament variably costellate, hinge line denticulate over most of valve width, no dental plates, ventral muscle field subquadrate, usually with well-developed muscle-bounding ridges except anteriorly at valve center, cardinal process lobes short, swollen, directed posteroventrally, dorsal muscle field weakly impressed
