Description
Subpentagonal outline and dorsibiconvex profile, anteriorly inflated. Beak suberect to erect, foramen small, semicircular, bounded by deltidial plates. Fold and sulcus strong from umbones and particularly pronounced anteriorly, anterior commissure uniplicate, tongue high, typically tridentate. Costae angular, originating at about midlength, entire surface bearing radial striae. Dental plates strong, ventrally convergent. Dorsal median septum strong, short, septalium narrow, short, V-shaped, open, hinge plates dividing immediately anterior of septalium, horizontal, crura long, slender, tips concave ventrally in cross section.
